The North Olmsted Eagles will square off against the Fairview Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
North Olmsted is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Bay by a score of 9-6 on Thursday.
Tyler Zatta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.
On the hitting side, Darren Krider and Luke Healan did most of the damage at the plate: Krider went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Healan went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That RBI marked the first that Krider has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Zatta, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Fairview had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They beat the Clippers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-4.
Brady Weir was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Weir was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Dylan Sather was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cal Reis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Fairview's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for North Olmsted, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
North Olmsted took their victory against Fairview in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
