Softball Recap: North Sanpete's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

North Sanpete had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Emery Spartans by a score of 6-2. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kaecee Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rylee Stewart was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mylee Cook, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

North Sanpete's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Emery, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

North Sanpete has already played their next match, a 12-7 win against Richfield on the 26th. As for Emery, they will face off against Canyon View at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
