If the Longmont Trojans were feeling good off their 60-31 takedown of the Greeley Central Wildcats last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Longmont was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 46-45 to Holy Family. Longmont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Holy Family apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Longmont still got an impressive performance from Levi Scheck, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Levi Varga was another key contributor, scoring two points.
Longmont bumped their record down to 8-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Holy Family, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Longmont will take on Greeley West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greeley West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Longmont is ranked 91st). As for Holy Family, they will head out on the road to face off against Mead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
