Decatur has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Brownwood Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Decatur walked away with it. They blew past the Matadors, posting a 52-21 win at home.
It was another big night for Nate palmer, who rushed for 224 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Palmer hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
Meanwhile, Brownwood came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 37-17 margin over Springtown. 37 seems to be a good number for Brownwood as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Decatur's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Brownwood, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.
