It was a good run, but the North Panola Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Coahoma County 60-54. North Panola was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Coahoma County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 5th.
Coahoma County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Hearns out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Hearns hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. Jerasmus Eagins was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
North Panola's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Coahoma County, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Panola will take on Rosa Fort at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Coahoma County, they will play host again and welcome Holly Springs, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Holly Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Coahoma County likes a good challenge.
