Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Mt. Pulaski's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Mt. Pulaski won the last time they faced Delavan and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hilltoppers walked away with a 2-0 win over the Panthers.

While Mt. Pulaski might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Delavan scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19.

Olivia Smith paced Mt. Pulaski's offense, picking up six kills. Smith got some help from Claire Bobell and her 12 assists. Alyson Murphy controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Mt. Pulaski has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Delavan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Pulaski will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Delavan, they will square off against Midwest Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
