The Liberty Christian Academy Heat's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 57-49 to Liberty Christian. While losing is never fun, Liberty Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Liberty Christian is ranked 123rd).
Several Heat players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mark Bachmann, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Morton, who scored 13 points.
Liberty Christian Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Liberty Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Christian Academy will take on New Bern Christian Academy on Saturday. Hopefully New Bern Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. Liberty Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Union Grove Christian.
