The Everman Bulldogs will face off against the Brewer Bears at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Everman has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 292 points over their last five matches.
Everman pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 78-57 defeat at the hands of Fossil Ridge.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Brewer beat Keller Central 45-41 on Tuesday. Given Brewer's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Keller Central is ranked 932nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brewer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julian Perez, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. The match was Perez's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre King, who scored 10 points.
Their wins bumped Everman to 2-3 and Fossil Ridge to 5-3.
Everman was taken down by Brewer 67-34 in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. Can Everman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
