Dawson Springs will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating McLean County, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Audri Scott made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Dawson Springs let Pearlena Hoffhines and Briley Sawyer run wild. Hoffhines went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Sawyer went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most hits Sawyer has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Blanchard, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Dawson Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Owensboro Catholic hit Union County with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Braves fell just short of the Aces by a score of 8-7.
Karley Byrd and Miley Mosley did some serious damage despite the final result: Byrd went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Mosley went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Hargrove, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Dawson Springs, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
