Evan Karenda threw for 231 yards and a touchdown. Lane Lehman was his top target, picking up 107 receiving yards.
Marian Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rory Dixon, who rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown. Jesse Rodino and his 93 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Marian Catholic's win.
Pine Grove's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Palmerton and 8-2 Williams Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65.9% over those games). As for Marian Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Pine Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marian Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Valley at 7:05 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Tri-Valley is ranked 346th, while Marian Catholic is ranked 341st).
