The College Station Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Magnolia Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
College Station has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 55-54 to Lake Creek. While losing is never fun, College Station can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while Lake Creek is ranked 183rd).
Meanwhile, Magnolia took a serious blow against Brenham on Friday, falling 74-45.
College Station's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Magnolia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-18 record this season.
College Station didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Magnolia in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 41-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for College Station since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
