Two dominant guards in Ben Barrus and Ike Palmer are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Riverton Silverwolves will head out on the road to face off against the Herriman Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Herriman took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverton, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Riverton faced Bingham in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Riverton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-65 victory over Bingham. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Riverton has posted since December 29, 2023.
It was another big night for Barrus, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Zach Edwards, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Herriman's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 56-45 to Corner Canyon. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Herriman in their matchups with Corner Canyon: they've now lost five in a row.
Riverton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. As for Herriman, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-5.
Riverton couldn't quite finish off Herriman in their previous matchup back in January and fell 96-93. Can Riverton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
