It was a good run, but the Collinsville Cardinals unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 21-14 to Claremore. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Collinsville couldn't answer the 7 points Claremore scored afterwards.
Scott Rigby and Hudson Henslick certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Rigby rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, while Henslick picked up 139 receiving yards and a touchdown. Rigby was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards.
Claremore was led to victory by Tyson Grimett and Braxton Etheridge. Grimett rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown, while Etheridge rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns.
Collinsville's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Claremore, they pushed their record up to 9-1-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Collinsville will head out on the road to face off against Coweta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Coweta is ranked 34th, while Collinsville is ranked 38th). As for Claremore, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sapulpa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sapulpa will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
