Fuqua's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Brunswick Academy hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Vikings' pitcher stepped up to hand Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Avery Griffin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, Brunswick Academy got a massive performance out of Aubrey Lynn Corum, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Corum is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Olivia Ann Evans was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Brunswick Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fuqua came up short against Kenston Forest on Tuesday, falling 17-7.
Kenna Schmidt was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Ledger, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Brunswick Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Fuqua, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Fuqua's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Brunswick Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Fuqua, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will Brunswick Academy keep running through batters, or will the Falcons buck the trend?
