The Middletown Middie Bears will head out to square off against the Kingston Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Middletown's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.
Middletown was handed a 12-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Chester 2-1.

Rudy Cherry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Middletown is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Daniel Aviles was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Kingston posted their closest win since April 18th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Newburgh Free Academy 4-2. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Goldbacks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jack Purvis tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Travis Fryling, who earned one run and four stolen bases. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Freese, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Middletown's record now sits at 4-9. As for Kingston, their record is now 10-4.
Middletown came out on top in a nail-biter against Kingston in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Middie Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
