The Garner Trojans will face off against the Clayton Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clayton will be up against a hot Garner squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Trojans put the hurt on Willow Spring with a sharp 13-2 win on Thursday.
Gabriella Czuczuk made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Czuczuk was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Mayken Lynette was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailey Radford, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Garner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Clayton never let their opponents score last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over South Garner. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Autumn Joyce was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Maynard, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Garner's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Clayton, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Garner has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .526. However, it's not like Clayton struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
