The Powdersville Patriots won the last time they faced the Belton-Honea Path Bears, and things went their way on Friday too. Powdersville was the clear victor by a 49-24 margin over Belton-Honea Path. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-11.
Powdersville was led to victory by Makayla Assemian and Ella Davidson. Assemian dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Davidson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Davidson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leandra Lawson, who scored five points along with ten rebounds.
Powdersville's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-8. As for Belton-Honea Path, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-8.
Powdersville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fountain Inn at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Fountain Inn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Belton-Honea Path, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Palmetto at 6:00 p.m.
