The Grasso Tech Eagles struggled with assists on Friday (the Cheney RVT Beavers had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Grasso Tech was dealt a 82-46 loss at the hands of Cheney RVT. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grasso Tech in their matchups with Cheney RVT: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Grasso Tech still got an impressive performance from Nick Stavesky, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Charis Johnson, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Dam'nic Gittens continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cheney RVT, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Gittens hasn't dropped below 24 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Mohamed Camara, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Grasso Tech has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Cheney RVT, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grasso Tech will face off against Putnam at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cheney RVT, they will head out on the road to challenge Enfield at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
