After a string of eight wins, River View's good fortune finally ran out  on Saturday. They fell just short of the Miami Trace Panthers by a score of  2-1.
 In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, River View sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 22-25,  25-21.
 Haley Balo paced River View's offense, picking up 14 kills. Balo got some help from  Kelsie Smith and her 33 assists. Balo was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with three aces.
River View's loss dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Miami Trace, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River View will host Maysville  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Miami Trace, they will welcome Athens  at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday.
