Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Coal City Coalers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 45-3 loss at the hands of Rochester. The low total for Coal City limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.
Henry Buecker was on fire for Rochester: he picked up 183 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Elijah Carlson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Coal City's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Rochester, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Coal City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rochester will take on Breese Central at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Breese Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Rochester is ranked 13th).
