Anthony suffered their biggest defeat since November 21, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Clint 68-37. Anthony has struggled against Clint recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Julie Cuellar, who scored 24 points. That was a full 64.9% of Anthony's points, marking the 19th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kayleen Nunez was another key contributor, scoring six points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Fort Hancock gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. Everything went their way against Chaparral as Fort Hancock made off with a 53-28 win. Winning may never get old, but Fort Hancock sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Anthony's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Fort Hancock, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Anthony suffered a grim 50-27 defeat to Fort Hancock in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Anthony was down 28-8.
