The Richland Royals had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They really took it to Saginaw for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-23 win on the road. For Richland, this counts as revenge for the 66-52 loss Saginaw walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Allison Holman was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Cydra Nabataanzi, who scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Despite the loss, Saginaw had strong showings from Tatum Stone, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals, and Anabelle Aguilera, who scored 2 points. Stone scored a full 56.5% of Saginaw's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Richland's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Saginaw, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Richland will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Seguin. As for Saginaw, they will take on West Mesquite at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
