Softball Recap: Sebastian River's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against John Carroll Catholic, Sebastian River was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by nine runs or more this season.

Rily Biggers was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Alexa Pittman, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Sebastian River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Sebastian River's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-9. As for Lincoln Park Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sebastian River will venture away from home to take on Merritt Island at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sharks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Lincoln Park Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Treasure Coast at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
