Basketball Recap: Bosque Piles Up the Points Against Cottonwood Classical Prep

Bosque had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They really took it to the Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-35 victory. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bosque to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oliver Tumolo, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Tumolo has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Josiah Wilson was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 12 points and five boards.

Bosque smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Cottonwood Classical Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Michael Martinez, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Bo Lobaina, who put up eight points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks.

Bosque's record is now 16-6. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bosque will square off against Cuba at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bosque has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, they will face off against Sandia Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
