The biggest upset of the week belonged to Veterans Memorial, who took down 512th ranked Los Fresnos, 17-10.
The Chargers moved up to 580 from 631 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region IV District 32. Veterans Memorial was able to make move up by defeating the Falcons 17-10.
Hanna's dynamic duo of Jacob Molina and Ramiro Olivares proved tough for Rivera to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Molina threw for 105 yards and two touchdowns and Olivares had 62 yards receiving. Charles Atkinson helped Hanna's passing attack out by catching two balls for 27 yards.
Jaedon Taylor was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 189 yards as Harlingen South beat the Raiders. Sean Montemayor also contributed to the rushing game with 23 yards on the ground.
Kristian Rodriguez made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Hawks topped Lopez. The junior racked up one sack.
On the ground, Harlingen South's Taylor has rushed for 1107 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nick Garcia. The Harlingen South star has 29 catches for 589 yards.
A big matchup in 5A Region IV District 32 this week will be when Harlingen takes on Lanny Wilson's team. The Cardinals are in fifth place, while the Hawks are in first place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Harlingen takes on Harlingen South. Manny Gomez's team has allowed 121 points this season, while the Hawks have given up 77. The Cardinals allowed 0 points last week as they bested Porter.
Hanna and Rivera played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Hanna eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory. Molina ran for four yards in the win.
