Baseball Recap: Lewisburg Has No Trouble Against Arlington

Lewisburg owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Arlington Tigers with a sharp 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Brady Rodgers looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grant Walendzik, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Lewisburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive games.

Lewisburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewisburg will head out to face off against Center Hill at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Arlington, they will venture away from home to challenge Collierville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
