The Catalina Foothills Falcons entered their tilt with the Sabino Sabercats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Clara-Mae Hrouch continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Catalina Foothills' points. Alessandra Egginton was another key contributor, scoring two points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Despite the loss, Sabino still got an impressive performance from Jayda Haley, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Haley's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Melia Graham, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
The win got Catalina Foothills back to even at 7-7. As for Sabino, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Catalina Foothills will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Gilbert at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th. Gilbert presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Catalina Foothills in Arizona (Gilbert is ranked third, while Catalina Foothills is ranked 119th). Sabino and Valley will round out the year against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at. Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Sabino likes a good challenge.
