Both Annapolis Christian Academy (6-2) and Sunnybrook Christian (2-4) have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Saturday to determine who is worthy to move on. Annapolis Christian Academy is cruising in on a three-game winning streak while Sunnybrook Christian is stumbling off of three losses in a row.
Annapolis Christian Academy has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling six) after its most recent game. It dominated two weeks ago, steamrollering Atonement Academy 58 - 8. With five TDs, sophomore Oliver Messner was a significant factor in the success.
As for Sunnybrook Christian, it has to be hurting after a devastating 34 - 13 defeat at the hands of Calvary Baptist Academy last game. The game was close at halftime with a score of 7 - 0, but Sunnybrook Christian simply couldn't keep up in the second half.
The last time they met, the final might easily have been mistaken for a basketball score. Annapolis Christian Academy was the 72 - 46 victor. It couldn't get the same offensive movement going as Sunnybrook Christian (641 yards compared to 414 yards), so it will surely be hoping to change that this time around. Annapolis Christian Academy's win shoved Sunnybrook Christian out of the playoffs, so the team will have a target on its back in this one.
