Barr-Reeve is 10-0 against Shoals since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Barr-Reeve Vikings will look to defend their home court against the Shoals Jug Rox at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Barr-Reeve was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 36-31 to Northeast Dubois. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Barr-Reeve in their matchups with Northeast Dubois: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Barr-Reeve got a solid performance out of Willow Thompson, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Thompson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hannah Bledsoe, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Shoals suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 83-26 loss at the hands of North Knox. While losing is never fun, Shoals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while North Knox is ranked 21st).
Barr-Reeve's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Shoals, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-13.
Barr-Reeve beat Shoals 44-33 when the teams last played last Friday. Will Barr-Reeve repeat their success, or does Shoals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
