Gospel Light Christian took a 51-33 bruising from Woodland Baptist Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gospel Light Christian in their matchups with Woodland Baptist Christian: they've now lost six in a row.
Gospel Light Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maggie Jo Church, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Church hasn't dropped below two blocks for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Phillips, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Gospel Light Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Woodland Baptist Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gospel Light Christian will challenge Oak Level Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodland Baptist Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Calvary Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Christian's defense has only allowed 26.5 points per game this season, so Woodland Baptist Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
