Archimedean's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pinecrest Glades Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Pinecrest Glades Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrey Alvarez out in front who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo Lovaglio, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Archimedean's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Pinecrest Glades Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Archimedean will be home for the holidays to greet Marathon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Marathon is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. Pinecrest Glades Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Redland Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
