Softball Recap: Northwood Temple Academy Wins Going Away Against Village Christian Academy

Northwood Temple Academy never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Village Christian Academy on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 23-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Bailey DeCarmine was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. DeCarmine was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Carly Bailey was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Kyleigh Ramos was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Northwood Temple Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .680. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Village Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .308.

Northwood Temple Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Village Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, Northwood Temple Academy and Village Christian Academy will both be playing Fayetteville Christian the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Eagles will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
