7A District 6 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Celebration's Quentin Lewis recorded the longest rushing play in 7A District 6 this season in his game against Lake Nona last week. Lewis ran for 70 yards on the play and finished with 171 on the day as his team lost to Lake Nona.
Harmony moved up to 381 from 433 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Longhorns climbed the ranks as a result of topping Melbourne Central Catholic 36-35.
Celebration's William Santry and Johnny Victor have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Santry has thrown for 678 yards this season, while Victor, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 17 catches for 337 yards. Osceola's STAFON McCRAY leads the league in rushing yards with 631.
A big matchup in 7A District 6 this week will be when the Kowboys take on Harmony. Osceola is in first place, while Jerrad Butler's team is in third place.
The Longhorns and the Hustlers played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Longhorns eventually emerging with a 36-35 victory.
