Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Xavier Prep). They claimed a resounding 62-35 victory over the Cathedral City Lions. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won eight in a row.

Despite the defeat, Cathedral City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayden Wallace dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Colston Taylor was another key player, putting up six points.

Xavier Prep's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Cathedral City, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, Xavier Prep and Cathedral City will both be playing Coachella Valley the next time they take the court. The Saints will host the Mighty Arabs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
