The Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Mountain and snuck past 34-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cottonwood Classical Prep.
Cottonwood Classical Prep found their leader in underclassman Adrianna Bolden, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bolden has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryah Carlson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Defeat or not, East Mountain got some senior leadership from Rylee Allen and Ava Podzemny. Allen almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 15 rebounds, and nine blocks, while Podzemny. scored nine points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. Bea Perea was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Cottonwood Classical Prep's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for East Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Cottonwood Classical Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Menaul at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Menaul will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for East Mountain, East Mountain and Moriarty will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Moriarty is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
