The Dallas Academy Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 94-19 loss at the hands of Immanuel Christian. Dallas Academy has not had much luck with Immanuel Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Dallas Academy saw an underclassman step up: Sam White scored six points along with five rebounds.
Immanuel Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayson Chang, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chang has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alam Canales, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Dallas Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.8 points per game. As for Immanuel Christian, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-6.
Dallas Academy will head out on the road to challenge Community Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Community Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dallas Academy in Texas (Community Christian is ranked 573rd, while Dallas Academy is ranked 1714th). As for Immanuel Christian, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Patterson Institute at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Patterson Institute comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
