After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Reimer Road Baptist Christian, the Christian Community Warriors were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against HEARTS for Jesus Christ by a score of 46-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Christian Community also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
It was another big night for Seth Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Gabe McQueen was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
HEARTS for Jesus Christ's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Aten, who scored 15 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Aten scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Micah Stack, who scored seven points.
Christian Community has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Christian Community will head out on the road to square off against Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. HEARTS for Jesus Christ won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lake Ridge Academy at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. Lake Ridge Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
