J.F. Webb came tearing into Friday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 14-9 victory over the Granville Central Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 on Tuesday.
Terrie Thornton made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off four runs, two triples, and two doubles while going 4-for-5. That's the most triples she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Jasey Lee was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Britany Mendoza, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.
J.F. Webb's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Granville Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
