Snake River has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Blackfoot Broncos at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Snake River beat Soda Springs 57-45. Given Snake River's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Soda Springs is ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Blackfoot entered their tilt with Thunder Ridge with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Blackfoot managed a 47-41 victory over Thunder Ridge on Saturday.
It was another big night for Marlee Pieper, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Kendylan Anderson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Snake River's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Blackfoot, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Snake River didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Blackfoot in their previous matchup back in November, but they still walked away with a 40-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Snake River since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
