Baseball Recap: Concord Comes Up Short

Concord lost against East Rowan back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Concord fell 10-6 to East Rowan. The Spiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Concord saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reed Martin, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Martin is becoming a predictor of Concord's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-9 when he doesn't).

Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for East Rowan, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord will square off against West Cabarrus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Concord's pitchers better be ready for this one: West Cabarrus has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for East Rowan, they are taking a road trip to face off against Northwest Cabarrus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
