Two dominant signal callers in Enoch Watson and Tait Reynolds are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The American Leadership Academy Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Queen Creek Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. American Leadership Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Queen Creek will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, American Leadership Academy faced Williams Field in a battle between two of the state's top teams. American Leadership Academy came out on top against Williams Field by a score of 55-47. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Watson was on fire: he threw for 326 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Jayden Williams, who picked up 149 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Queen Creek had to suffer through a rough 42-13 loss at the hands of Highland. While losing is never fun, Queen Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Highland is ranked fifth).
American Leadership Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. As for Queen Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
American Leadership Academy came up short against Queen Creek in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, falling 27-17. Can American Leadership Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
