The Warren County Eagles lost against the Northampton County Jaguars back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Warren County was dealt a 65-24 loss at the hands of Northampton County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Warren County has scored all season.
Northampton County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyra Vincent led the charge by scoring 17 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Vincent scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Michaela Hodge, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven blocks.
Warren County's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for Northampton County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Warren County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Vance County at 4:30 p.m. on January 6th. Vance County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Warren County likes a good challenge. Northampton County will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Southeast Halifax at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Southeast Halifax is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
