The Fairfield Falcons will venture away from home to take on the West Campus Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fairfield's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Valley as they made off with a 26-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Kaya Lanzon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mariah Giron was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Leilani Corey also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Fairfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .825. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
West Campus never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Foothill on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Mustangs. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Like Fairfield, West Campus also got a great game from a two-way player: Analisa Mederos. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Mederos was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs.
In other batting news, West Campus got a massive performance out of Sophia Quiroz, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Moriah Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Fairfield's record now sits at 8-6. As for West Campus, their record is now 9-6.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fairfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .529. However, it's not like West Campus struggles in that department as they've averaged .520. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fairfield couldn't quite get it done against West Campus in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 8-5. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
