Phoenixville is 8-2 against Spring-Ford since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Phantoms will host the Rams at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Phoenixville headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Owen J. Roberts let them put that streak behind them. The Phantoms blew past the Wildcats 11-4 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Phantoms in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.
Declan O'Connor and Anthony Sepega were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, O'Connor tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Sepega tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, O'Connor went 2-for-3 with two runs, while Sepega went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave Sepega a new career-high.
In other batting news, Logan Kern was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carmine Nattle, who earned three RBI and one run.
Phoenixville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Spring-Ford never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Boyertown. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rams yet this season.
Johnathan Copperthwaite looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aidan Dunleavy, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Nelson, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Spring-Ford's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Phoenixville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Phoenixville got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Spring-Ford by a conclusive 7-1 score. Will the Phantoms repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
