There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Manzano got a 34 - 10 win over Clovis last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Xavier Ivey-saud. Ivey-saud earned two touchdowns and 167 yards rushing the ball. That performance made Ivey-saud one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
No Stoppin 'Em
Cleveland has been an offensive powerhouse for five straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It breezed past Cibola with a final score of 63 - 33. The Cibola defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 34 points per game), and Cleveland took advantage of that. At 96 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Welcome
Capitan not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent Tularosa in every quarter. The final score between Capitan and Tularosa was a 51 - 0 blowout in Capitan's favor. The high-scoring offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Capitan's flat performance last game. Thanks to its success, Capitan cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 21st spot.
