The Johnson Jaguars posted their closest victory since January 5th on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Travis and snuck past 57-54. This was payback for Johnson, who suffered a 73-57 loss the last time these two teams met.
Lake Travis' loss came despite strong showings from Chas Biegel and Adrian Mathis. Biegel scored 24 points, while Mathis scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Biegel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Thomas, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Johnson's victory bumped their record up to 25-7. As for Lake Travis, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 28-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnson has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Del Valle at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Del Valle has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lake Travis, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Akins at 7:30 p.m. Akins will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 573rd, while Lake Travis is ranked 15th).
