Two dominant forwards in Adam Denkert and Wyatt Frey are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Kenesaw Blue Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kenesaw is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.
Last Monday, Kenesaw was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 37-31 to Silver Lake. The matchup marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kenesaw's defeat came about despite a quality game from Maddox Wagoner, who posted 17 points. That's the most points Wagoner has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Denkert, who had two points along with four steals and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Lawrence-Nelson came up short against Deshler on Monday and fell 42-30. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Lawrence-Nelson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Frey dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. That was a full 60% of Lawrence-Nelson's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Lawrence-Nelson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.
Kenesaw's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Lawrence-Nelson, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Kenesaw has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lawrence-Nelson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Kenesaw came up short against Lawrence-Nelson in their previous meeting back in January, falling 59-52. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Frey, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Now that Kenesaw knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
