Middle Park had lost six straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-12 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Jefferson Jeff Saint by a score of 6-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Noah Hunter was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Diogui Laynes was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Rowan Hagen, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Jefferson's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 16, 2025.
On Jefferson's side, Jaime Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, AJ Alvarado was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025. Gabe Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Middle Park beat Jefferson by a score of 15-2 later that day.
