The Hurricane Tigers will challenge the Box Elder Bees at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Hurricane has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Box Elder will come in with seven straight wins.
On Thursday, Hurricane came up short against Cedar and fell 11-7.
Hurricane got a good showing from Kadence Davey, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Davey has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kaylee Clyde made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Ruby Seely was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Box Elder got the win against Mountain Crest on Wednesday by a conclusive 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Bees, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Kennadie Blackmer made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. Blackmer was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Lucy Griffin was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kailee Hall, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Box Elder was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Box Elder's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Hurricane, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hurricane has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Box Elder struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
