Adam Hayes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. Hayes has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive pitching appearances. Hayes was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a home run.
Forge Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Berthoud, their victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Forge Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game.
